congratulations class of 2020!
Graduation from high school marks an important milestone for students and parents alike. The ACCEL Day and Evening Academy Class of 2020 has already accomplished great things, with many more to follow. On behalf of the teachers, staff and administrators, I thank you for giving us the opportunity to be a part of this important time in your child's life.
This web page is simply an introduction to some of the fun and exciting things that we have planned for our potential graduates. The next few months will pass very quickly and will be exciting for us all. While some things have been set in stone, students and parents alike must know that we are constantly planning and adjusting a variety of elements associated with the Class of 2020.
Senior fees have been set at $135.00, which is non-refundable. The number one question that is asked by parents from August to May is, “What do senior fees pay for?” Senior fees pay for your scholar’s Senior Portrait Sitting Fee, Senior Shirt, Senior Activities, Baccalaureate, the Graduation Ceremony, and any other expenses associated with holding senior events.
● SENIORS MUST PAY THEIR SENIOR FEES TO PARTICIPATE IN SENIOR EVENTS.
● SENIOR FEES DO NOT COVER CAP & GOWNS.
This year, we will be taking fees in three installments: first payment of $45.00 due on October 2nd, 2019, second payment of $45.00 due on December 2nd, 2019 and final payment of $45.00 due by February 3, 2020. Any part of these installments can be paid before the due dates.
Davis Photography provides Senior Portraits for ACCEL Seniors. The $25 sitting fee is included in senior fees. Portraits taken include both tux & drape options and cap & gown poses. Davis Photography senior photo sessions are scheduled for December 3rd, 2019 for our female graduates and on December 4th, 2019 for our male graduates.
Any scholar who misses the senior portrait session will need to schedule their make-up session with Davis Photography. ACCEL will not provide a make-up session.
cap & gown
Once again, Jostens will provide our graduation essentials (cap & gowns/senior gear, and all questions associated with cap & gowns should be directed to Jostens. Mr. Wiggins from Jostens will be here on Tuesday, October 22 at 9:30 A.M. in the cafeteria to give his presentation and answer any questions. He will return on Tuesday, October 29 at 9:30 A.M. in the cafeteria to take orders. PARENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND BOTH MEETINGS.
Parents who cannot attend either or both meetings should encourage their child to bring home the materials provided in order to review Jostens’ prices and policies. STUDENTS PLANNING TO WALK MUST PURCHASE A NEW CAP & GOWN FROM JOSTENS AND JOSTENS ONLY IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE GRADUATION COMMENCEMENT. JOSTENS PROVIDES US WITH A LIST OF STUDENTS WHO HAVE NOT BOUGHT CAPS & GOWNS.
This year, the design and slogan for senior t-shirts will be a job that we assign to our graduating scholars. Students will submit ideas, and the class will vote on their pick. We will attempt to get senior t-shirts ordered the end of second quarter.
